It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to implement a standard procedure for developing, approving, implementing, and reviewing College policies and procedures.
Document Control Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to maintain records of changes made to documents that specify College policies and procedures and to control the distribution of documents to affirm their authenticity and to eliminate confusion as to what are the current authorized versions of policies.
Institutional Planning Policy and Procedure
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to have both Strategic and Operational Plans aligned with its vision, mission, goals and core values as means to monitor its performance and success on a periodic basis and with the engagement of its various stakeholders.
Risk Management Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to implement a coherent and systematic process for risk management, based on a clearly specified mechanism for identifying, evaluating and controlling risks.
Program Planning and Development Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to describes the educational program planning and development process. It ensures that MCM continuously improves its existing programs and aims at introducing new programs.
Program Specifications Policy & Procedure
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to have a program specification that summarizes the characteristics of its programs as well as any updates or modifications.
Undergraduate Completion Requirement Policy (Academic Progress Policy)
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to help its students to maintain progress towards their academic goals. It will instill the necessary activities and avail the necessary resources for the same.
Course Substitution Policy It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to allow limited exception on course substitution for a graduating student only, limited to one last remaining course. This exception in policy shall only be made according to the below-described procedure, and conditions fulfilled.
Independent Study Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to allow students to register for a course on an independent study basis under the following conditions:
- The student is expected to graduate after completion of that semester;
- The course that is required from the student’s curriculum is not offered by the College in that semester;
- The CGPA of the student is at least 2.5; and
- The student did not take an independent study course earlier.
Registration Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) for the students to be officially registered for all classes in accordance with the regulations and procedures of the College.
Academic Standing Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to support all students to maintain good academic standing.
Grading Assessment Policy It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to describes the processes associated with implementing an assessment and grading system in MCM.
Moderation Policy and Procedures It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to ensure that assessment instruments are at an appropriate level to align with QFEmirates level 7 descriptors and that any student work is assessed in a fair and accurate manner.
Examinations Policy It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to ensures that all examinations are conducted in a secure and fair manner and in compliance with the best examination practices.
Graduation Project Policy
Graduation projects are very important component of the study plans at MCM in a number of ways. Graduation projects are instrumental tools of research, integration of different courses, addressing practical issues, and learning additional necessary knowledge to address real-life issues. On the other hand, students need to develop and use several skills in a good graduation project, for example, teamwork, resources and project management, time management, working under pressure, and setting and managing priorities. Students usually demonstrate a high level of creativity and beyond the normal level of achievement, therefore, MCM pays special attention to enabling our students to be the best they can be in graduation projects. Accordingly, most senior faculty will always be responsible for supporting students in graduation projects. The Graduation Project for six (6) credit hours represents an "Achieving Culminating Activity" in order to fulfill graduation requirements.
Incomplete and Failure Grades Policy for Graduation Project
If the unsatisfactory performance during the progress of the semester is not addressed by the student, the Graduation Project Supervisor may recommend an incomplete grade or a Fail grade as appropriate. An Incomplete grade can only be removed in the next academic semester. A Fail grade requires the student/student team to retake the Graduation Project course completely, using a new graduation project topic.
Policy on incompatible project teams
Research project teams of two or three students are formed based on the request of the students, and not at the behest of the College or the Graduation Project Supervisor. Therefore, any discord or disharmony in the team will result in dissolving the team. In such a case, each student must identify and complete another research topic on an individual basis, with individual contents and presentation assessments.
Policy on non-participating students in the Graduation Project presentation:
The date, time, and venue for a project presentation are fixed by the Graduation Project Supervisor in concurrence with the Faculty Evaluator. All students in a project team must attend and participate in the presentation.
If one of the team members is absent without valid cause or reason or fails to give advance notice of his/her inability to attend, the remaining members of the team will complete the presentation before the evaluators. The student who is absent from the presentation without a valid reason will receive a mark of zero out of thirty marks for the presentation. Make-up presentations will not be permitted in such cases. No exceptions shall be made to these arrangements.
Curriculum Approval and Revision Policy
This Policy outlines, for Faculty, students, and other stakeholders, the College’s approach to curriculum and course approval and management including design, development, approval and review. It sets out the requirements and procedures for existing course and curriculum review and for new program proposals. Curriculum approval and revision are carried out using four integrated quality assurance cycles:
- The course level review cycle is carried out at the end of every regular semester for every course offered in that semester.
- The annual program level review cycle is carried out beginning in September and ending in June of each year for every program.
- The comprehensive program-level review cycle is conducted every five years for every program.
- The Faculty will regularly perform internal and external environmental analyses and consider the College’s strategic directions, and propose the addition of new programs, beginning with a needs assessment and feasibility study.
Teaching and Learning Methodologies Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to ensures that MCM adopts technology–enhanced methodologies in all its instruction. The College realizes the need to adopt new technology and methodologies with on-line and remote instruction.
Course Syllabus Policy and Procedure
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to communicates to the students the purpose of the course, and what will be required from them to complete the course.
Course File Policy and Procedure
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to maintain a full record of each course offered during each semester in an organized and consistent manner across the College, with the aim to ensure that the Faculty or other persons who assess program effectiveness can determine whether the course is meeting its learning outcomes, and whether changes to the course are needed.
Intensive Modes of Course Delivery Policy and Procedures
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to shortening the period of the standard semester which is called a summer semester for intensive course delivery. There is no compromise on the learning outcomes level or quality standards of the program this will enhance work life balance of MCM Students.
Research Support Framework Policy It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to support its faculty in carrying out research and scholarly activity. Research and scholarship enrich the intellectual life of MCM’s faculty and students, enhance teaching and support further development of program curricula, and raise the academic standing of the College. MCM pays special attention to applied research that benefits the local community. The Research Support Framework of MCM comprises mechanisms that, taken together, will stimulate and sustain research and scholarship of the highest quality, relevance, and timeliness.
Research Grant Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to offer financial support to its faculty members and students to undertake research activities that enhance the intellectual life of the College. MCM-sponsored research grants permit faculty members and students to carry out research in areas that may not attract sponsorship or external funding.
Ethical Research Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to uphold the highest ethical standards and values in conducting research. The Ethical Research Policy sets out the principles that govern ethical research, as well as procedures and guidelines for the impartial and thorough ethical analysis of research those which fall within its scope.
Student Involvement in Research Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) through which MCM students will be made aware of their research environment, thus enabling them to be involved in active research and helping them to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills so that they can better address the demands of their workplace as well as society in general.
Conference Funding Policy It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to offer the opportunity for full-time faculty to apply for grants to attend conferences, seminars, workshops, symposiums, or other academic meetings relevant to their academic specializations or to research they are conducting at MCM.
Faculty & Professional Staff Recruitment Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to value its staff and will recruit the best candidates for any job, so that new joiners will add value to students, staff and community. MCM promotes equal opportunity, a well-planned and discrimination free strategy in the entire process.
Resignation and Termination of an Employment Contract Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to presents guidelines for handling leavers and applies to all employees who choose to resign and terminated from their services.
Faculty Compensation and Benefits Policy It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to have a clear explanation of the compensation and benefits to which Faculty members are entitled, taking into consideration adequate parameters and being aligned with regulators’ requirements.
Annual Leave Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to ensure that staff take regular breaks from work throughout the year in the form of paid annual leave, as per their entitlement.
Faculty/Staff Personnel Records Policy It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to acquired and maintain personal records of its staff and Faculty for the legal intended purposes. MCM values every possible record to protect identity, personal information, and data and does not share with others and maintains its confidentiality.
Professional Development for Faculty and Staff Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to encourage its Faculty and Staff to enhance their professional skills through active participation in various professional development activities, to collect their feedback on the same, and to measure the efficiency and impact of the engaging activities on Faculty and Staff performance.
- MCM will support all relevant professional development activities.
- MCM will recognize professional development activities by its staff and will consider the same in promotion and performance appraisal.
- MCM will cooperate with others (e.g. other universities and colleges in the country.
Faculty Workload Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management to maintain Faculty workloads that consider various components of Faculty member’s responsibilities. MCM defines a required number of hours weekly on these responsibilities, depending on the academic rank of the Faculty Member.
Professional Staff Promotion Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to ensure the professional development of its staff. MCM will reward staff for their good performance, self-development and achievements.
Faculty Promotion Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to offer its Faculty members a channel to advance to higher academic ranks while in the service of the College, thus rewarding them for their proven professional achievements in teaching, scholarship and service.
Faculty & Professional Staff Disciplinary Policy
This policy refers to guidelines for the disciplinary procedures, towards fairness and proper conduct amongst all employees. MCM expects the highest standards of discipline from its employees together with satisfactory standards of work. These expectations are clearly and specifically communicated through the policies and procedures manual, employee handbook, etc.
Faculty and Professional Staff Appeals & Grievances Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to enable employees who have a complaint/grievance (arising from their Department) to have it dealt with at an appropriate level.
Undergraduate Admissions Policy
Students applying to MCM will be considered for admission if they have the UAE General Secondary School Certificate or equivalent, as stated in the admission requirements set in the Ministerial Decrees No. 199 & 883/the Year 2019. See “Admission Criteria” below. Transfer credits from universities accredited by the UAE-MOE are accepted if transfer conditions are met (See Student Transfer Policy).
Transfer Policy
MCM welcomes the admission of applicants transferring from other institutions of Higher Education and may consider transferring credits of a student earned at another recognized institution of Higher Education to its programs only if the student meets the admission criteria to the MCM.
Student Records & Information Release Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to specifies the collection, maintenance, storage, disposal and security issues pertaining to student records.
Grade Approval and Change Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to allow modification to published grades only in three cases, namely: (1) error in grade entry; (2) grade appeal; and (3) removal of an Incomplete Grade. Grade changes shall only be made according to the described procedure.
Career Services Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to maintain strong relationships with our students who have work or need it from the College, so as to gain ongoing benefits from their expertise, and from their connections with UAE broader community.
Students Working Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to encouraged MCM students to work during the study days or during the summer vacation in the various College units or in the research field according to the hour-for-pay system, provided that this does not interfere with their academic performance.

Students have the right to appeal any decision; academic or otherwise as well as the right to demand corrective measures of any action they deem unfair or unjustified.

Health & Safety Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to implement a coherent and systematic policy for health and safety based on a clearly specified mechanism for ensuring college students and staff health well-being.
Smoking Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to prohibit smoking and vaping on its premises to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Equipment and Software Replacement Policy
- The College plans to provide up-to-date equipment and software to support the academic and administrative functions of the College. All equipment will be maintained and replaced if needed. The software will be updated to keep up with the advances in the market.
- The College plans to purchase computers for each individual Faculty or staff member, Computer labs will be equipped with the state of the art computers, printers, and scanners. Also, to have a replacement cycle for hardware and software every five years.
- The Library will have enough computers to be used for interlibrary search or to access the e-books and journals.
- The registration, finance, and Human resources units will be supplied with integrated systems.
- All computers, laptops have a lifetime of only five years after which they have to be replaced.
- The replacement process can be achieved at one time or gradually and in either case, the replacement process should not exceed one year.
- Each Faculty and staff has the responsibility to ensure the well keeping of the equipment used by him/her.
- The replacement process will start with the instructors, the employees, the lab then the library.
IT Security Policy
IT resources play a crucial role in the development and sharing of information, as well as in supporting the development of knowledge at the College.

The College ensures that the information system is managed through its data backup policy.
Equipment and Software Technical Support Policy
- MCM, IT department has been striving to provide technical support to teaching, learning, academic, research, and administrative activities since the Mena College of Management was established in 2014.
- The department is committed to achieving MCM’s vision, mission, and institutional goals in alignment with the strategic plan.
- CAA (Commission of Academic Accreditation) of MoE guidelines related to IT resources and services are aligned to academic requirements and priority is given to the training services, usage, security, backup, and recovery systems.
- IT Department also assures software licensing, maintenance, replacement, and upgrading of the Equipment and software.
- IT department has implemented a helpdesk system to provide quick response and maintenance.
Appropriate Use of Technology Resources Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to provide staff and students with access to technological resources to enhance their College experience, as well as providing them with the means for intellectual and social growth. The College will not allow such resources to be used for purposes that are not deemed ethical, immoral, or destructive.

Financial Policy
The policies contained herein describe responsibility, authority, and accountability. It is the responsibility of all administrators with financial responsibility to familiarize themselves with these policies to provide proper guidance to all employees. The College has set forth financial policies to ensure efficient operations and use of fiscal resources.
Budget Setting & Budgetary Control
Budget Setting & Budgetary Control enables an institution to calculate its revenue and expenses periodically over time and enables the institute to control expenses maximize growth with optimal use of resources.
Risk Management and Internal Financial Control Policy
Risk Management and Internal Financial Control helps create and preserve the College’s values, assets, and reputation by balancing risks and benefits while adhering to all standards.
Purchasing and Inventory Control Policy
This policy deals with managing risks associated with contractor’s vendors and suppliers. Seek competitive pricing and protect the College and themselves against any form of conflict of interest.
Cash Management Policy
The College is keen on the development, implementation, dissemination, and annual review of a sound cash management policy that contributes to supporting its strategic goals. Cash management policy handles receiving, transporting, and depositing of cash. The term cash includes currency, checks, money orders, negotiable instruments, and charge card transactions.
Financial management will optimize cash management to maximize revenue to the College and stability.
Auxiliary Enterprises Policy
The auxiliary policy includes establishing and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures, including an assessment of the continued purpose and need for existing auxiliary enterprises.
Conflict of Interest Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to outline measures for College employees when there is a potential conflict between their personal interests and those of the College.
Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to establish controls to ensure compliance with all applicable anti-bribery and corruption regulations, and ensure that the College business is conducted in a socially responsible manner.
Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy
- The College will adhere to and enforce UAE Federal Law No. 7 of 2002 and any modifications or amendments hereafter.
- Any person (student or staff member) will be disciplined according to the regulations of the College.
- The College does not authorize the use of its premises in the Library or otherwise to infringe the Copyright of individuals.
- The College will not use any copyright infringing resources and will notify the authorities of any such resource.
Teach–out Policy
It is the policy of MENA College of Management (MCM) to deliver according to the appropriate standards and to put safeguards in case it faces any risk. To avoid risks arising from insufficient enrollment and other financial difficulties, the College plans to take the following precaution starting next academic year September 2021.
- A budget, which includes reserved funds to meet any financial deficit, is in place. The College will allocate 5% of its annual income as a contingency amount for such a purpose.
- Cost-efficient spending of College funds.
- Identifying other alternative sources of income-generating programs or projects.
- Expanding marketing strategies and identifying new targets.
Furthermore, the following measures will be taken:
- The Registrar reports the insufficient number of enrollment to the College President.
- The Finance Department determines the amount of budget deficit and proposes budget adjustments to the College President.
- The College President recommends the proposed adjusted budget to the Board of Trustees (BOT).
Students who wish to continue to study toward a four-year bachelor degree program that is terminated, but do not want to transfer to an institution with which MENA has a teach-out agreement, will be assisted in gathering and submitting the necessary documents for transferring to the institution of their choice.
The College will allocate 5% of its annual income as a contingency amount for such a purpose.
Non – Academic Publications Policy
This policy focuses on the publication of the information related to various events, activities, and College resource capabilities, its reliability, and consistency in all means of communication.
Institutional Relations Policy
The College believes that it should maintain and develop the existing College relations with business and industrial organizations, various government departments, and the community at large.
